Welcome to Australasian Association of Volunteer Administrators
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to AAVA.
As an association we have achieved much since our inception and we are very proud of the fact that we have become known as a strong voice in the Australasian region. Our aim is to support and to advocate on behalf of Volunteer Managers and truly be that association of which our members can rely and trust and know that they are associated to a professional body that looks after their needs.
Professional Volunteer Managers should always strive to provide Best Practice in all they do and in the volunteer program they run. The key to good practice in volunteer management is effective leadership. Without successful leadership, people tend to be uninspired, unsure of their role and may lack commitment. I would urge our members to remember that you are a professional and view your role as Volunteer Manager as just that, a profession that you can enjoy and develop into for many years to come. Embracing best practices in volunteer management, and creating diverse opportunities for individuals to take action, is a critical element of AAVA’s platform. For this reason we have developed our website with many elements which you can tap into to gain valuable resources and advice.
